Our regular update on events at Reeth Memorial Hall
Last week's country blues evening with Rag Mama Rag was a great success but sadly we've had to cancel the evening of 'Movie Magic' which was originally scheduled for Friday 31st March.
We have a wide variety of music coming up in the next few months with several performers who've never been here before plus the return of some old favourites - hopefully something for all tastes. Full details of all events, as well as advance notice of some dates for 2018, are on the website under the Events tab.
Tickets for all events advertised on the website are now available from Reeth Post Office or directly from us. You can also pay by credit card using the 'buy online' link but do remember that incurs a booking fee.

Tania Opland & Mike Freeman (http://reethmemorialhall.us10.list-manage.com/track/click?u=2638228bfc7941f8198fb3a12&id=038e3bd07c&e=2da880f1b5) - Friday, 21st April, 8pm
Two musicians who describe themselves as playing ‘more instruments than any sane duo would travel with…’ will be bringing their eclectic mix of acoustic music and songs in several languages to Reeth Memorial Hall just after Easter, promising ‘a roller coaster ride across the continents’.
Tania Opland, originally from Alaska, and Mike Freeman, from Manchester, have been touring the world together since 1995, along with hammered dulcimer, guitar, recorders, cittern, violin, Native American flute, ocarina, hurdy-gurdy and assorted percussion instruments.
Their show features material from many cultures as well as original compositions, all presented with wit and style - guaranteed to provide an evening of great music and entertainment for all, especially those seeking something a little off the beaten track.
Tickets are £12 in advance (£14 on the door), under 16s half price.

Nominated for the 'Horizon' BBC Folk Award 2012 and for 'Best Debut' at the Spiral Awards 2012. Forged from the voices of Hannah James (Kerfuffle, duo with Sam Sweeney), Hazel Askew (The Askew Sisters, The Artisans) and Rowan Rheingans (Fidola), Lady Maisery explore vocal harmony to breathtaking effect, through their fresh interpretations of songs and ballads. The trio burst onto the scene with the release of the debut album, ‘Weave and Spin’ in summer 2011, which received much critical acclaim and was declared an 'Album of the Week' by The Independent. Their live performances during the festival season created a real buzz and they were nominated for the Horizon Award at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards 2012 and for Best Debut at the 2012 Spiral Awards.
Lady Maisery break new ground as one of the first UK groups to explore the tradition of diddling or tune singing, which has nearly died out in England, but is still prevalent in Scandinavia and other parts of Europe. Whether singing unaccompanied, or with backing from their combined instrumental talents on accordion, harp and fiddle, be prepared to be enchanted by rich harmonies and sumptuous clashes.
Support by Jimmy Aldridge & Sid Goldsmith. (http://reethmemorialhall.us10.list-manage.com/track/click?u=2638228bfc7941f8198fb3a12&id=8c56a6ac92&e=2da880f1b5)
